Techniques The work features traditional Kimono wax-resist dyeing techniques,
natural and synthetic dyes,embroidery, traditional ethnic fabrics and
the use of recycled wood and paper products.

Geernaerts is known for deep lush colours using the Japanese wax-resit technique. Imagery includes a changing pallette of abstracted flora & fauna collaged together with applique and embroidery. Geernaerts exhibits yearly at the Chelsea Flower Show in London each May. See the Exhibitions section for details. This is by far the best place outside Canada to view the most extensive range of work. For the 2005 Chelea Flower Show, Geernaerts provided 328 handmade commemorative books exclusively for the guests of the Royal Horticultural Society opening night Gala dinner. The Museum of Garden History, London, hosted a special exibit of the work running from May 9th - July 12th, 2005. When considering a piece, you are encouraged to plan ahead as production is a lengthy process. A more limited selection is available throughout the season from the Salt Spring gallery.
